Artist's Statement:

Doll Face

When I saw a collection of fractured, soiled, porcelain doll parts I was unprepared for my emotional response.  It brought a flood of memories and thoughts to mind. There was an undeniable urge to rebuild, redesign, and re-invent each doll remnant.  I enjoy using a variety of materials and techniques to create one of a kind pieces.

    

Some of my pieces relate to history and have a story to tell, others simply present the doll in a new perspective. My intent is to draw out an emotion from the viewer. The emotional responses vary with each individual. I fully accept and celebrate our backgrounds and differences.  Life is more fun when you do not take yourself too seriously.
