Artist Statement -- 2011My fantasies of Nature are a response to the frustration of urban life
(the pointless cycle of demolition and construction), which also contains moments of beauty. The good and bad are intermingled. Skull imagery is a way to converse about the mystery of death. The meaning of life is still hidden. I have fears that may prove to be unfounded. Many of my pieces incorporate handcast paper, which I create and paint. I also use recycled fabric, magazines, beads, photos, pizza boxes, and scrap wood. |
