Happy 2015...from Cannibals Gallery!
GLEAN
GLEAN: to gather, collect bit by bit, or pick over in search of relevant material.
The GLEAN program is accepting applications January 1, 2015 for the 2015 program from artists residing in Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties.
GLEAN is a partnership between crackedpots, Recology and Metro with the primary goal of using art to bring awareness to our culture’s excessive waste generation and consumption. It's an exciting opportunity for five artists to have full access to unique materials discarded at Metro Central transfer station (“the city dump”) for the creation of art.
In addition to gleaning privileges, artists will each receive a $2,000 stipend and 80% commission on art sales generated from a public exhibition scheduled for August of 2014 at Disjecta Gallery.
The Call to Artists and Application can be found at www.crackedpots.org. The deadline for applications is January 31, 2015.
Cannibals Gallery has had two artists in the past accepted into this program, and the door is now open once again. If you have any questions, or would like more information, you can contact Amy Wilson, program director, at [email protected] You can also check out the Glean Blog...photos and information...from the past seasons-HERE!
